Grinding stone with 400/1000 grain value is the wet stone that we recommend for our hiking/hunting knives
Leave the wet stone in water for 5 minutes and place it on an even/flat surface. Whether you need rough grinding, or a nice polishing and final finishing depends on how dull the knife blade is.
1. Coarse grinding is used to repair nicks in the knife edge (use the side that has a grit value of 400). Hold the knife at an angle of 10 - 30 degrees, then sharpen the knife edge by moving the edge gently with light pressure back and forth on the wet stone until the knife blade is sharp enough.
2. Fine grinding, (use the side that has a grain value of 1000) this is done to get a razor sharp finish on the knife edge. Now use a slightly more gentle pressure, it is recommended to do once a week.
Finish by drying the knife blade with a wet cloth or rinse it in water, then dry it well. Clean the stone surface of the wet stone with a soft brush and let it dry before putting it away.
Caution
1. Use the entire surface of the wet stone when sharpening the knife blade.
2. protect the wet stone well and prevent it from falling onto the floor.
3. The grinding result will be better if you use grinding oil.
4. Keep wet stones and knives out of reach of children to avoid accidents
