The Forestry Company - Guardian of the Future Forest

We have collaborated with The Forestry Company for over 30 years and consider their annual work to introduce children to the forest incredibly important. This work not only helps educate future decision-makers about the importance of the forest but also provides a unique opportunity to experience the inner peace and joy that the forest and outdoor life can offer. We have invited The Forestry Company to share a text about their valuable work. We hope you will find it interesting to read.

For 125 years, The Forestry Company has been the voice of the forest. Everyone has a relationship with the forest, whether we hike and pick mushrooms, recognize the significance of the forest for climate and environment, or understand how forestry is a crucial part of the green shift. Regardless of perspective, fact-based knowledge is important - and that is The Forestry Company's voice.

Knowledge dissemination to children and youth, and especially providing them with real forest experiences, is a key focus for The Forestry Company. Every year, The Forestry Company is in the forests with at least 20,000 children, focusing on topics ranging from ecological cycles to forestry practices. In the forest is where we feel most at home, among spruce and pine trees, and preferably with a campfire pan.

School children around the campfire are the future decision-makers, and knowledge and positive attitudes towards the forest are crucial for sustainable forestry in the future. When we are with the children in the forest, it is important for us to teach them that a knife is an important tool. What could be more natural than letting them carve on a piece of wood? Many of us have experienced the tranquility that comes with carving imaginative wooden figures and the satisfaction of learning to use a good tool. For more than 30 years, Brusletto's reliable and sturdy knives have been with us in the forest during these events.
