Our History

Brusletto is 125 Years Old

We are very proud of our historical roots that date back to when Rognald Brusletto established the knife and scythe forging company Brusletto in 1896. It was an innovative company that adopted new technology, and Brusletto has since evolved significantly. Our history includes many highlights along the way, including the Olympic knife in 1952, the introduction of the Brusletto Hunter knife in 1961, and the Olympic knife from the memorable Winter Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994.

Like all other companies, we have experienced both headwinds and tailwinds, but we now stand strong and work every day to develop our company and our products.

We who work in and with Brusletto find great meaning in contributing to good experiences in nature and consider a knife as part of the essential equipment when venturing into the wilderness. Nature has also been an important inspiration when developing new products, such as axes and other useful tools for trips.

Brusletto represents craftsmanship tradition, development, and quality through 125 years of production. We want our products to last and therefore also offer a lifetime guarantee on products made at our factory in Geilo. Here, the knives go through dozens of manual operations, and the result is something we are proud of every time. We believe that sharp friends stay with you for life, and you can trust that our products maintain high quality and are made to last.

As typical Geilo residents, we celebrate with cake and without much fuss, but put all our energy into continuing to develop and produce the best products for our customers.
