Cleaning Kitchen Knives

  • Hand wash: Wash the knife by hand using lukewarm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge.
  • Avoid the dishwasher: Heat, harsh chemicals, and high water pressure can damage both the blade and the handle, and may dull the cutting edge.
  • Clean after use: Clean the knife immediately after use – especially after cutting acidic foods.
  • Dry thoroughly: Use a soft cloth and dry the knife right away to prevent rust, discoloration, and water spots.


Storing Kitchen Knives

  • Protect the edge: Avoid placing knives loosely in a drawer where they may come into contact with other objects.

Wooden handles: Treat wooden handles with a neutral oil from time to time to prevent drying. Wipe the handle with a damp cloth, apply oil, let the knife rest for approximately 15 minutes, then wipe off any excess oil. The result is a refreshed, polished, and protected handle.
